Major May Events Around Longs

While Longs itself is more residential, one of the advantages of living here is how close it is to several major Grand Strand events.

One of the biggest nearby May events is the World Famous Blue Crab Festival in Little River, scheduled for May 16 and 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. along the Historic Little River Waterfront. The festival features seafood, live beach music, scenic waterfront views, vendors, crafts, and family-friendly fun. It is one of the largest festivals in the Southeast and is just a short drive from Longs.

For residents who enjoy the beach, dining, entertainment, and live music, North Myrtle Beach and Little River offer plenty of options throughout the month. Visit Myrtle Beach also highlights the Blue Crab Festival as one of the major Grand Strand events, noting that it is expected to bring more than 50,000 attendees and around 200 arts, crafts, food, and business vendors to the area.

Longs is also close enough to enjoy Myrtle Beach area events without living directly in the middle of the crowds. That convenience is one of the reasons the area continues to grow in popularity. Residents can enjoy festivals, golf, shopping, restaurants, beach days, and waterfront dining, then return home to a quieter community setting.

For buyers, that lifestyle combination is a major selling point. For homeowners, it is one of the strongest parts of the Longs story: peaceful living with easy access to everything the Grand Strand has to offer.
