Garden City is the thin stretch of land south of Surfside, with the Atlantic on one side and the creek on the other, and it shares the 29576 ZIP with Murrells Inlet. The thing that sets it apart in this market is simple: short-term rentals are permitted here. In the City of Myrtle Beach they are banned in every district starting with “R” apart from one narrow exception. That single difference is what brings investors down here.

Weekly rentals are allowedWhich changes the maths completely. A property that cash-flows in Garden City would be an illegal rental a few miles north. Always confirm the specific zoning and any HOA rules on the individual property.
